Mammals

Primates
New World monkeys belong to five families of primates found in the tropical regions of Mexico, Central America, and South America. They are small to medium-sized primates, ranging from 0.1 kg to 15 kg, and can be distinguished from Old World monkeys (catarrhines) by several key features. First, New World monkeys have broad, flat nostrils, whereas catarrhines have narrow, downward-pointing nostrils. Second, they possess three premolar teeth, while catarrhines have only two. Their diet includes gums, insects, small lizards, nesting birds, and eggs. In captivity, it is beneficial to provide food in a way that mimics their natural foraging behavior—for example, offering whole fruits that require peeling or biting, rather than pre-prepared food, to serve as both nourishment and enrichment. At Fundera, we have two species of New World monkeys: Marmosets and Red-Handed Tamarins.

Rodents
Rodents are mammals belonging to the order Rodentia, characterized by a single pair of continuously growing incisors in both the upper and lower jaws. They make up approximately 40% of all mammal species. Rodents are highly adaptable and will consume a wide variety of foods. Mice and rats, for example, are known to eat grains, seeds, hay, and even fish food. They may also gnaw on non-edible items such as worn clothing and leather. At Fundera, we have more than 10 different species of rodents, including Mice, Degu Rats, Dwarf Hamsters, Syrian Hamsters, Gerbils, Guinea Pigs, Angora Rabbits, Lop Bunnies, English Spot Rabbits, Californian Rabbits, and Nutria (Coypu Rats).

Ferret
Ferrets are small, domesticated mammals known for their playful nature and curious personalities. Belonging to the weasel family (Mustelidae), they have become popular pets worldwide. They are easily recognized by their long, slender bodies, soft fur, and lively personalities that bring joy to their owners. Ferrets are lively and engaging pets that bring happiness to many households. Their playful antics and social nature make them wonderful companions, but they also require dedicated care and attention. Understanding their dietary needs, health requirements, and safe living conditions is essential to ensuring they thrive as beloved family members. As more people discover the joys of ferret ownership, their popularity as captivating pets continues to grow.
